Two arrested in Colorado drug bust
LAMAR, Colorado - A pair of Lamar, Colorado men have been arrested on charges
of unlawful possession and sale of marijuana and conspiracy to sell marijuana.
Nathan Wayne Brown and Jacob Ray Cooper were arrested after a confidential
Colorado informant working for the Colorado police purchased a quarter ounce
of marijuana from Brown and Cooper on July 8.
According to the arrest affidavits, the confidential informant, CI-62, received
$50 from Colorado Sergeant Gene Redman and Colorado Officer Garth Crowe. CI-62
also received a "wire."
With the wire and the money, CI-62 went to 3 Reese Circle to meet Brown and
buy the marijuana. Cooper was also at that Colorado address.
Brown and Cooper took $25 from CI-62 and went to buy the quarter ounce of marijuana.
Once CI-62 had the drugs, he or she met with the Colorado police officers at
a predetermined location.
CI-62 gave the marijuana and the extra cash to the Colorado officers.
The Colorado police did a presumptive test on the green leafy substance, and
the test indicated that they did in fact have suspected marijuana. The Colorado
police then sent the green leafy substance to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
for laboratory analysis. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation lab confirmed
that the green leafy substance was marijuana, and that there was 3.68 grams
of marijuana.
