Marijuana bust in Ohio
TOLEDO, Ohio -- When Toledo, Ohio detectives searched the home of a suspected
drug dealer, they got a lot more than they bargained for. Ohio officers found
a very elaborate system used to grow marijuiana. They also found about 90 high
grade marijiuana plants with a street value of more than $140,000.
Ohio investigators seized the plants last Friday after searching a trailer
in the 5700 block of Angola Road. Ohio police charged Florentino Torres with
cultivating and possession of marijuana. Ohio officers were quite surprised
when they found an indoor hydroponic grow system, complete with bright lights
and an irrigation system.
"We walked into this room. The walls were wallpapered in mirrored wallpaper.
There were numerous grow light, very bright sunlamps. They were on," said
Ohio Detective Danny Navarre.
Ohio police say Florentino Torres was arrested after an undercover Ohio officer
gave him 3 lbs of marijuana and Torres agreed to pay $3,000 dollars for it.
After that, Ohio police searched his trailer and found that grow system.
Torres got out of jail yesterday after he posted a $7,500 dollar bond. His
case is pending in Toledo, Ohio Municipal Court.
